We have moved our adoption pages

In order to streamline the process for updating cats for adoption and allowing us to centralize our main website and adoption blogs all adoption information and cats looking for homes have now been placed at http://www.sunnyharbour.org.uk.

This step was necessary due to Google’s announcement about non mobile friendly websites which our old website was not compatible with.

We hope that you will continue to follow our news over on our new website and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Biscuit (Adopted)

Biscuit came to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue from a hoarder environment with lots of other cats a few weeks ago. ¬†He is a stunning rich ginger tabby boy with amber eyes and the cutest little pink baked bean toes! ūüôā ¬† We estimate his age to be approximately 18 months old and after being treated for his massive flea and worm burden and neutered he has now found himself seeking his forever home.

Chilling out after a good play session

Chilling out after a good play session

Biscuit is a cat who very clearly craves attention from you. ¬†He adores cheek and ear rubs and really pushes into you hard for more. ¬†He is a very independent cat who is better as a single cat in the home as he doesn’t tolerate other cats well and having come from an environment where he was forced to interact with other cats, it was very clear he was unhappy.

Biscuit is seeking a home with outdoor access where he can explore safely in an area well away from any main roads or cut throughs.  He would not be suited to a home with young children but would be ok with teenagers who are used to cats or an adult only environment.

As much as he loves attention he has clearly only had limited interaction in the past and he can get a little anxious about physical contact at times. ¬†He will put his paw up or give you a very gentle nibble to say he’s had enough and then he is quite happy to go off and do his own thing and come back to you for more affection later.

Our assessment of this boy is that given the space to adjust into a new home where he can come for affection on his own terms and leave / stop on his own terms is that he will settle in just fine and learn to not feel threatened by physical contact from humans over time.

In light of this an experienced cat person with patience to help him over come his apprehensiveness around physical contact would be preferable and over the first few months he will start to enjoy longer sessions of affection than when he first arrived.

Biscuit is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on all flea and worm products before he leaves Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.  If you feel you could offer this gorgeous boy the understanding home he needs then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form via our website.

Tojo (Adopted)

Tojo is a very lovely affectionate boy who has found himself looking for a new forever home through no fault of his own.  Sadly due to allergies in the home Tojo must find himself somewhere new to live so we are hoping you can help give Tojo the happy forever after he deserves.

Tojo

He has only been with his current owner for a couple of years after he was left behind by his previous family and we would very very much like to find Tojo a final loving and forever home.

Tojo is described as being a very friendly boy who is great with children and has always lived as an indoor cat. He loves to play and enjoys his cuddles and play time and especially loves a grooming session and adores having his photo taken.

He is approximately 10 to 12 years old and a very handsome black and white tuxedo boy with no medical conditions. He is neutered and up to date with all flea and worming treatments.

If you think you could offer him a loving, cuddly home and a permanent place on your sofa please do get in touch by completing our adoption application form on our website.

If you have any enquries please do give us a call on 0300 330 1412.

Simba (Adopted)

Please welcome Simba to our Adoption Program. Simba is a gorgeous brown tabby and white boy who has found himself looking for a new home after the death of his owner.   He is a very lovely boy who has only ever known 1 home since he was a kitten but despite this has coped with the change into rescue very well.

Simba

He’s a gentle soul who enjoys pottering around the house and garden at leisure and would be ideally suited to someone who works from home or in a situation where he can have garden access in a safe area well away from any busy roads.

Simba is good around children but would prefer older children who wouldn’t bother him. ¬†He enjoys a good ear rub but not quite so happy being picked up.

Simba is very much a lap cat and looks for lots of affection from his owners so be prepared for lots of headbumps and snuggles and he would prefer to be the only cat in the household.

He’s not a fan of wet foods but very much enjoys his Royal Canin biscuits and is in the peak of health for his age.

He truly is a very special, gentle and loving little man and we so much want to see him happy and settled again after what has been a difficult time for him. Though he is 12 – 13 years old he is very much an active boy who doesn’t remotely look his age.

If you feel that you could offer Simba the lifestyle he needs then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form on our website.

On leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue Simba will be up to date with all flea and worm treatments, vaccines, be microchipped, health checked and insured.

Annie (Adopted)

We’re really pleased to be able to introduce you to this little darling of a cat we call Annie. ¬†Annie came to us with her 2 young kittens and has reared them at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue and since been neutered and is ready to take on a new life of her own.

There are eyes in there somewhere I promise. I just couldn't get her to open her eyes for a photo!

There are eyes in there somewhere I promise. I just couldn’t get her to open her eyes for a photo!

Annie is a very quiet little girl, very polite and VERY playful with lots of energy to run around and play.  Ideally she is looking for an indoor / outdoor home with supervised outdoor access and would be good with older children and possibly other cats too in the future however we are recommending her as a first cat only to start with as she has never ever had a proper home before.

She has a very laid back nature in that nothing seems to phase her and she is a real joy to have around. ¬†Her gorgeous green eyes just follow you everywhere and if she’s on exercise time you’ll always find her not far behind you wondering what you’re up to and why you aren’t wielding a feather tickler or two.

Annie is only about 14 months old so is still very young lively cat.

We don’t know how Annie would be with dogs.

A more lovely, gentle little girl you couldn’t wish to meet.

If you think you could offer Annie her forever home then please do submit our Adoption Application Form from our website.

Ruby & Tinker (Adopted)

Introducing the dynamic duo that are Ruby (black) and Tinker (dark torti).

TinkerThese fun fuelled, energetic girls are looking for their forever home with lots of snuggles and kisses and lots and lots of fun.

They adore self play through balls, mice and springs but their favourite thing of all time is a feather tickler or Furenzy.

These girls would suit a wide variety of homes and are exceptionally gentle and loving.  At only 4 months old they are still delicate little girls who are looking for a family home with older children or with an adult only home until they are older.

Both girls are very very people orientated and love nothing more than hanging out with you for play or cuddles.

Although not siblings the girls have lived together for some time and are very bonded. We will not consider splitting the girls up and any home must be a home for life for both the girls.

We do not know how the girls would be with dogs and suspect they would be fine around other cats.

Ideally we would like an indoor only home for the girls but may be open to a home well away from busy roads and cut throughs.

If you feel you could offer the girls the loving, cat orientated home they deserve then get in touch via our Adoption Application Form and we’ll get in touch.

Ruby

Doc (Adopted)

Doc is a wonderful and stunning little boy at 4-5 months old who is looking for his forever home.

He is an exceptionally lively boy who needs an energetic family to look after him who can tire out his endless energy and give him lots of fuss and snuggles when he’s feeling sleepy.

He’s a great little boy and as you can see by the photo’s he is absolutely stunning silver tabby boy.

He would suit a wide range of homes and families though we wouldn’t advise Doc with very young children mainly due to his exciteable nature and he has a tendency to fly through the air while he’s playing and not really looking at where he is going.

That said he is one of the sweetest little boys you could wish to meet its just rare he stands still when you spend time with him at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue as he always wants to be running everywhere at 100 miles an hour and playing when people are around as he has to share his fun time with others.

He would indoor homes as he has no road sense, well maybe just lacks common sense with no sign of being street aware.  He would literally go chasing a leaf for miles if given the chance.

We don’t know how he would be with dogs and as we said above we don’t recommend Doc for very young children under 4 years old due to his excitable nature.

If you would be interested in being considered as a new pawrent for Doc then please do complete our Adoption Application Form from our website.

Cheekie (Adopted)

Cheekie is a wonderful little cat who has a huge heart and lots of love to give.  All she needs is someone to open up their heart and home to her.  She is a wonderful character and at just 2 years old she has a happy loving future ahead.  She has a cheeky side to her personality and is quick at butting in for affection and knows how to work her charm to get what she wants.

Cheekie enjoying some fuss and playtime.

Cheekie enjoying some fuss and playtime.

Cheekie came to us as a relinquishment, pregnant with her 5th litter and was tired and worn from her experiences.  She is a very small cat due to having litters so young but just the perfect size for a lap to snuggle on.

She is currently just finishing rearing her last and final litter of kittens and will then be neutered and ready to leave Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue to join her new family.  Cheekie is very placid wee girl however she loves a really good fuss and will also play with you if you give her interactive play.  She enjoys some of our super strong cosmic cat nip toys and is looking for a peaceful life from now on.

Cheekie will be suited to a wide range of family circumstance though we would recommend older children (over 6 years old) as she finds being around very young children stressful.

We don’t know how Cheekie would be with other cats or dogs.

On leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue Cheekie will be neutered, microchipped, insured and treated for parasites.

If you would like to be considered to adopt Cheekie into your family then please complete our Adoption Application Form.

Gumball (Adopted)

image

Gumball at play

Yes, the time has come for the very gorgeous Miss Gumball to find her forever home!

Those people familiar with our work will know that Gumball came to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue as her owners couldn’t afford costly dental reconstruction surgery she needed to correct an overshot jaw.

The surgery was a complete success and following the surgery she has gone from strength to strength now she is pain free at last and able to enjoy life to the full.

There is no need for future medical care due to her jaw.

Her foster carers write of her…..

“Gumball or Fluff as we like to call her, as she is a cuddly fluff ball, is the most affectionate, tolerant and playful cat you could meet.

She likes to greet with a lick on the nose as a “hi”. She loves her toys especially her laser pen and the occasional game of fetch with her foam ball.

She likes to be around people and gets lonely if left alone too long. She is happy in the company of other cats and seems to integrate quickly. She is very friendly cat who will welcome anyone who comes into the house so probably isn’t suited to the dangers of outside.

She longs for her own home so she can roam about with more space and have her choice of windows to look out and “shout” at the birds!  ”

Gumball would probably suit a family setting with older children where someone is home part of the day or even someone who works from home some of the time.

She is an amazing little cat and at just 1 year old has been through much more than she ever should have in this life already.

Gumball is neutered and will be micro chipped, vaccinated, up to date on flea & worm treatments prior to leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

If you’re interested in adopting Gumball and can give her that ‘special’ home then please send in an Adoption Application Form from our website.

Tilly (Adopted)

image

Tilly has been with us for a few months now as we have had to teach her to trust humans again. She was a relinquished cat who arrived in a terrible state full of fleas, worms, severely underweight etc. She is approximately 2 years old.

She was exceptionally nervous when she first arrived and it has taken lots of patience to get her to where she is today.

Tilly is now a confident girl who loves to play and enjoys a fuss on her terms. She’s good with teenagers, other cats and dogs and would make a lovely companion cat for the right cat oriented, experienced family home.

Tilly has never been outdoors and would benefit from an indoor only home of sufficient size she has ample room to find a peaceful corner for herself should it be needed.

Tilly has been neutered, health checked and will have her vaccines started shortly. She will also be microchipped and insured on leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

If interested in being considered to give Tilly a new forever home please complete our Adoption Application Form at http://www.sunnyharbour.org.uk

Thank you.

Flash (Adopted)

Looking for fun loving?  playful? cheeky? and full of mischief?  Then Flash is your man!!

Flash playingFlash¬†is approximately 9 months old and is simply awesome!! ¬†He’s great for the cat mad as he gives you so much loving and fun for 2 cats let alone 1.

Always on the move and always uber friendly and into everything Flash¬†is just a big kid in a wee furry body. ¬†He see’s life every day as a kid see’s popping into a sweetie or toy shop. ¬†It’s Awesome!!

Getting the idea?   Flash is a very bubbly, happy, bouncy wee boy who truly deserves the best in life after a bad start being abandoned

With his fun loving, no fear attitude we would like to see Flash¬†move onto an indoor only home. ¬†He just doesn’t have the smarts to deal with outside danger as everything he see’s is a game. ¬†Some cats are born wary and with life skills to cope outside. Flash¬†isn’t one of them!

Flash¬†would do well in a variety of households though we wouldn’t recommend children under the age of 6 or 7 simply due to his slightly exciteable nature. ¬† Adult only homes are also perfect and he would be probably be great with children once he’s calmed down after being in his new home for a few months.

FlashWe are pretty sure the first people to meet Flash and be drawn to his cheeky charm will snap him up.  He truly is a little star.

If you think you could tire out loveable wee cuddle monster like Flash then do get in touch.  Drop us an Adoption Application Form from our website noting your intest in Flash.

Delilah (Adopted)

Delilah is a very loving, sweet little girl who finds the world confusing. ¬†She’s been used as a little breeding machine since she was just a baby herself and is no larger than a 6 month old kitten. ¬†She can be very timid but once she gets to know you she’s exceptionally affectionate and loving and a very very gentle soul.

Delilah2In her time with Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue she arrived pregnant and so we have nursed her through her final pregnancy and she will be ready to leave her litter in a couple of weeks time once she has been neutered.

Delilah is looking for a very quiet home with no young children.  An indoor home may be more suited to Delilah due to her nervious character and distrust of strange people.

Delilah is a stunning little cat almost dilute in colouring and so dearly craves to be loved and accepted.  Whilst any settling in period would need some understanding to help her settle she will repay you in an abundance of affection.  She is approximately 5 years old.

Delilah has lived with other cats before but we are unsure how she would cope moving into a multi cat environment and we would prefer to rehome her somewhere without dogs.

We do feel she would be better suited to a home with older children or an adult only home and she finds young children quite stressful (don’t we all?)

If you think you could offer Delilah a loving, understanding home then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form from our website.

Trudie (Adopted)

Trudie enjoying her exercise time and cuddles.

Trudie enjoying her exercise time and cuddles.

We’re so pleased to be able to finally introduce you all to Trudie. ¬†A sweeter, more loving, affectionate cat you couldn’t meet and she is just looking for her special forever home.

Trudie is approximately 1 year old and came to us as a stray cat. ¬†She has since had a litter of kittens with us and will soon be ready to leave them behind and start her new journey. ¬†As a result she isn’t ready for immediately leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue but will be ready in a couple of weeks so we would like to try and find her forever home for her to move onto at that time.

Trudie will suit a mutlitude of different homes from adult only, working from home, family homes, etc.  She has a fantasticly good all round nature and her character is very chilled and laid back and she just takes life as it comes.

She absolutley loves her cuddles and tummy rubs and enjoys some grooming time too. She’s also one of the best at making us feel guilty at putting her back in her pen once her exercise time is over with those….. “awwww” eyes she makes.

You truly couldn’t wish for a more well rounded little cat.

Trudie will be happy with both an Indoor / Outdoor home or an Indoor Only home where there is sufficient stimulation to keep her physically and mentally happy.

We don’t know how Trudie is with dogs and we would probably recommend children over the age of 5years.

Trudie is good with other cats at the shelter but we’re unsure how she would cope joining an existing cat in the home. ¬†She would however make a good candidate to have as a first cat with a view to adding a 2nd at a later date if this was your long term goal. ¬†(minimum 12 months)

trudie3Trudie will be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered and up to date on all flea and worm treatments on leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

If you think you could offer Trudie the love and safe home she truly deserves then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form from our website.

Zeus (Adopted)

Zeus is an exceptionally handsome, gentle, loving boy who seeks only the simplest things in life. Good food, cuddles, tummy rubs and play.

Zeus is a special boy and brother to one of our own pet cats. He was rehomed by Sunny Harbour at just 12 weeks old and has found himself back with us reluctantly through no fault of his own.

Zeus is a quiet wee boy not overly vocal but he likes to show you what he wants in nuzzles and affection.  He has the most gentle of purrs which matches his nature and is generally an all round amazing guy.

ZeusAt 7 years old his temperament is settled and what you see is what you get.  Zeus is a fit, healthy boy who has been regularly health checked at the vet and up to date on all his vaccines.

Zeus would be great with a family or an adult only home and would do very well as a companion cat for someone at working at home a lot of the time .

He’s a bit unsure of other cats and has always lived on his own so we would prefer him to be the only cat in the house.

Zeus has always been an indoor cat due to being partly hand reared by us at a very young age. Any new home for him must be INDOOR ONLY.

If you think you could offer this amazing boy a forever home then do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form.

Pootle (Adopted)

Pootle is a youngster with attitude and personality abound….

PootlePAHShe may be small at just 16 weeks old but trust us when we say she knows how to ‘work it’.

Pootle will make a fabulous fun loving, energetic, playful, cuddly companion for someone with the time to spend with her.

Ideally a situation where there is someone home part of the day to keep her quick thinking, intelligent mind working and give her company for a good workout.

The photo shown here is during her recent visit to our local Pets at Home store where we do meet and greet days.  Pootle after an initial settling in period decided she owned the store and greeted all her fans wonderfully.

Pootle is not suitable to live with any other animals however and will need to be an only cat.

We have deliberated over this issue for some time and despite several attempts to ‘re socialise her it has proved futile and Pootle continues to be outwardly aggressive to other animals.

She is perfect and cheeky with people it’s just unfortunate that she can’t work out how to socialise properly .

We also feel because of this Pootle needs to either be adopted to an area where there aren’t many other cats or possibly indoor only.

Aside from this slight issue, Pootle makes a wonderful, highly energetic but loving companion..

We wouldn’t recommend Pootle to a family with young children due to her energetic personality.¬†pootle2

If you feel she may be of interest then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form quoting your interest in Pootle.

Peter & Olivia. (Adopted)

Here are 2 stunning, loveable, mischievious, wonderful little kittens looking for a forever home together in an indoor only home.

We don’t recommend kittens for households with children under 5 years old. ¬†for more details please read our FAQ here.

peter_oliviaThey are a brother and sister pair and are approximately 16 weeks old. ¬†They are very bonded and we will not consider splitting them, so please don’t ask.

Both Peter (Ginger) and Olivia have wonderful cuddly personalities though Peter can be a little unsure in new situations or with new people at times.  Both are very well socialised and will be fine with other cats and older children.

They love mad fast play and their feather tickler or Cat Frenzy are their favourite toys along with balls, mice, crinkle balls, well in fact just about any toy you can give them.

Both are vet checked, up to date with flea and worm treatments, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you are interested in offering them a forever home please complete our Adoption Application Form from our website noting your interest in Peter & Olivia.

Max (Adopted)

Looking for fun loving?  playful? cheeky? and full of mischief?  Then Max is your man!!

MaxMax is approximately 5 months old and is simply awesome!! ¬†He’s great for the cat mad as he gives you so much loving and fun for 2 cats let alone 1.

Always on the move and always uber friendly and into everything Max is just a big kid in a wee furry body. ¬†He see’s life every day as a kid see’s popping into a sweetie or toy shop. ¬†It’s Awesome!!

Getting the idea?   Max is a very bubbly, happy, bouncy wee kitten who truly deserves the best in life.

He’s found himself here through no fault of his own just circumstance and has quickly proven himself to be a firm favourite with every volunteer. ¬†To be fair I’m surprised one of them hasn’t snapped him up already!! ūüėČ

With his fun loving, no fear attitude we would like to see Max move onto an indoor only home. ¬†He just doesn’t have the smarts to deal with outside danger as everything he see’s is a game. ¬†Some cats are born wary and with life skills to cope outside. Max isn’t one of them!

Max would do well in a variety of households though we wouldn’t recommend children under the age of 6 or 7 simply due to his slightly exciteable nature. ¬† Adult only homes are also perfect and he would be probably be great with children once he’s calmed down in a couple of years as he grows.

We are pretty sure the first people to meet Max and be drawn to his cheeky charm will snap him up.  He truly is a little star.

If you think you could tire out loveable wee cuddle monster like Max then do get in touch.  Drop us an Adoption Application Form from our website noting your intest in Max.

Charlie (Adopted)

Charlie found his way to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue when he had nowhere else to go…..

Charlie 2He’s gone through quite a bit of upheaval over the last few months having been bounced around homes and situations but now that he is here with us we would like to find him his first and only forever home where he can be loved and cherished as all cats should.

Charlie is 3 to 4 years old, neutered and with an amazing personality. ¬†He’s very friendly and enjoys a good fuss and isn’t afraid to put the belly on show for a few scratches.

A healthy boy who just needs his vaccinations re started and a microchip he’s pretty much ready and waiting with his bags packed on the purrfect match that comes to find him.

A gorgous brown tabby and white long haired cat he will need some grooming to keep his coat in good condition.  Once or twice  a week grooming should suffice.

Charlie is used to being an indoor only cat having never ventured outdoors and so we would like to keep this a possibility for him.  We may consider a home with a secure garden providing there is no cut throughs or busy traffic areas nearby.

Charlie really is a special little man he just needs someone who can understand that he’s had a lot of upheaval in recent months and could really do with someone to show him what a stable home is.

If you are interested in offering Charlie a home please complete our Adoption Application Form from our website noting your interst in Charlie.

Vader (Adopted)

Vader is a lovely lovely boy and if we had room for another “pet” he would be one of the first I’d choose as he has such a wonderful personality. ¬†He’s found himself at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue through no fault of his own and purely down to the circumstances of his previous owner.

Vader playing with his feather tickler toy

Vader playing with his feather tickler toy

Vader is super chilled, very laid back about life and just rolls with life. ¬†He loves a good play and enjoys his treats but most of all he enjoys his cuddles and fuss and just watching what you’re up to.

A typical neutered tom he has an amazing personality and we’re sure that the first people to meet Vader won’t fail to be bowled over by his charm and smooth purring to find himself a home.

Vader has always been an indoor cat and as such we are seeking an indoor only home for him.  We may consider homes with secure gardens well away from busy traffic routes and cut throughs if suitable.

Vader is good with other cats having come from the same home as Solo and Lexi and we feel he would be equally suited to a family home with children used to cats, or to that of an adult only scenario so long as there were plenty of cuddles, play and treats on offer.

Vader is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on all flea and worm treatments on leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

If you feel you could offer Vader a new loving forever home then please do get in touch via our Adoption Application Form from our website noting your interest in Vader.

Solo and Lexi. (Adopted)

Solo and Lexi are a mother daughter pair of cats who are looking for their forever home together.  Solo is approximately 3 Р4 years old and Lexi 9 months.

Mother and daughter seeking home together.

Mother and daughter seeking home together.

They get on very well and having always been together we feel it unfair to split them up.  Solo is the mum and she is the black and white cat and Lexi the black female.

Both girls have arrived at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue through no fault of thier own and purely down to the circumstances of their owner.

Both girls are very inquisitive and friendly and love a good fuss.  They equally enjoy a good play with the Frenzy Cat Toy or Feather Tickler and always enjoy having a good explore round the cat ward at exercise time.

These 2 wonderful friendly, loving girls are looking for an indoor only home as that is all they have ever known. ¬†The girls can be a little shy until they get to know you so we don’t advise the girls for a home with children under the age of 5 years as they aren’t used to children. ¬†Ideally a family home with older children or a adult only home to allow them to settle in at their own pace without too much disruption would be ideal.

They are used to living with other cats but we don’t know how they are with dogs.

The girls are recovering from a respiratory virus very well and once fully clear will be going for neutering ASAP. ¬†As such the girls aren’t ready for immediate adoption but can be reserved with a view to moving onto their forever home in 2 or 3 weeks .

If you feel that you could off Solo and Lexi a forever home then please do complete our Adoption Application Form from our website noting your interest in Solo and Lexi.
